Terms for publishing maps to the catalog
Anyone can play and rate catalog maps without an account. Whoever publishes a map agrees to these terms. They are short: nothing offensive or private, the map stays in the catalog until you withdraw it, and we may show and share it.
City Defense is free to play in your browser – no download, no sign-up. First mission: Brno, náměstí Svobody.
Play freeWho runs the catalog
City Defense and its player map catalog are operated by František Jánoš, company ID (IČO) 02721864, Husovická 902/18, Brno - Husovice, 614 00, Czech Republic. Contact: frantisek@trefa.app. How we handle data is described on the Privacy and analytics page.
Author account
- You can publish maps only with an account. By signing up you confirm that you are at least 15 years old and agree to these terms.
- Your nickname is public next to your maps, your e-mail never is. A nickname must not insult anyone or impersonate someone else (for example “City Defense” or the admin).
- You can delete your account in the game at any time; your published maps then stay in the catalog as “unknown author”.
What does not belong in a map
- insults, hate and profanity in the name or description;
- maps aimed at specific people or private places — such as someone's house, apartment or garden;
- advertising, links and spam;
- anything that breaks the law or the rights of others.
The name, description and nickname go through a word filter. You can report a map that does not belong here in the game. After reports from several different places the map hides itself and the admin reviews it.
Rights to the map
By publishing you grant the operator of City Defense a free, non-exclusive and perpetual right to show the map, share it (including with a preview image on social networks), keep it — even after it is withdrawn from the catalog — and return it to the catalog. You can keep using the map elsewhere; it is still yours.
Changes, withdrawal and moderation
- A published map does not change. An edited map is published as a new version with a new link; you can withdraw the original one.
- A withdrawn map disappears from the catalog and from its link, but it is not deleted — it stays in the archive and the admin can return it.
- The admin can hide, return or permanently delete a map and block an author who repeatedly breaks these terms.
Map data
A catalog map stores only the location, play area, spawns and game settings — not OpenStreetMap data. The game takes buildings and streets live from OpenStreetMap, OpenMapTiles and OpenFreeMap tiles; their license (ODbL) does not change and the attribution stays visible on the map and on the map picture.
Changes to the terms
When we change the terms, you will see the date of the change at the top of this page.
